Meet Vishal Amin,
Founder & CEO of AERTRON.

Vishal S. Amin, brings over 20 years of diverse experience in civil and military aviation. Vishal is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Aertron, Inc., a veteran-owned business providing global aviation solutions and transportation advisory services.  Vishal is also appointed by the Governor of Maryland to serve as a Commissioner on the Maryland Aviation Commission overseeing Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport. Vishal brings extensive experience across the US Federal Government having served in various leadership roles at the NTSB and the FAA. At the NTSB, Vishal was Chief of Staff to the Chairman where he improved transportation safety and policy across all modes of transportation. Vishal led numerous high profile accident investigations including: Virgin Galactic Space-Ship 2, Tesla Auto Pilot, Space X, Asiana 214, UPS 1354, MH 370, MH 17 and SS El Faro. He also led engagements with key international stakeholders such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, the Japan Transport Safety Board, and the United Kingdom Air Accidents Branch.

While at the FAA, Vishal worked across Air Traffic Management, Safety, Training, NextGen, Certification and International arenas.  Vishal was the first Indian-American diplomat as the Senior Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regional representative for South Asia, Vishal was responsible for building strong partnerships with counterparts in the civil aviation authorities in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives. Vishal served as the senior FAA official at the US Embassy, New Delhi, India, responsible for managing aviation related activities with other U.S. Government agencies, foreign civil aviation authorities, international aviation organizations and industry organizations. Vishal is passionate about promoting international aviation safety and efficiency and supporting global trade for US businesses and US leadership.

Vishal also served as the US-India Aviation Co-operation Program (ACP) government co-chair. ACP is a unique bilateral public-private partnership launched in 2007 including the U.S. Trade development Agency (USTDA), the FAA and U.S. aviation companies to promote communication between the Government of India and U.S. public and private sector entities in India.

Vishal began his aviation career as an FAA air traffic controller and worked in numerous leadership roles within the FAA. Vishal is also a FAA certified Commercial Pilot and Single and Multi-engine Flight Instructor. Vishal has a Professional Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s of Science in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Vishal served four years in the United States Air Force and was also appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Vishal is also multi-lingual and fluent in both Hindi and Gujarati.
